Drug possession in garage
JERSEY SHORE — Travis Nichols, 36, of 314 Oak St., Jersey Shore allegedly had crystal meth and marijuana in the garage behind his home when Tiadaghton Valley Police searched it Jan. 19.
Justin Segura, a Tiadaghton Valley Police Officer, said police investigated the area after receiving calls about a woman allegedly banging on the garage doors and yelling about a man having meth and “doing stuff” in the garage.
The man, Nichols, allegedly denied having drugs in the garage, called the situation “bull (expletive) and crazy” and walked out of the garage.
“Based off my training and experience, I have learned that people tend to separate themselves from the narcotics, which I believe that this is what Travis was doing,” Segura wrote.
Nichols then gave permission for police to search the garage, and allegedly admitted to having marijuana inside.
Segura allegedly found a gram of crystal methamphetamine, two grams of marijuana, a glass smoking device for methamphetamine and a working digital scale with meth residue.
District Judge Jerry Lepley sent Nichols a summons for charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use and possession of marijuana.
