AMBRIDGE — A new brewery and taproom is planned for Ambridge.
Fermata Brewing Co. aims for a late-2021 opening at 918 Merchant St.
Customers will pick from a rotating selection of a dozen or so brewed-on-site beers they can enjoy at a bar setting, in more loungy chair areas — or, when the weather is nice, next to an open garage door looking out at the street where a food truck could be parked.
There are no plans for a kitchen, but Fermata’s music-loving ownership team definitely wants to build a stage where musicians can entertain, and possibly a listening room with vinyl records and a turntable.
Business partners Chris Bendick, Alan Gore, Rob Smoker and Jared Tuk envision a comfortable, modern, non-pretentious setting, ideal for blue-collars and white-collars alike, with beer offerings ranging from hazy IPAs and trendy sours to coffee-infused beers to pure German-styled, Old World beers with simple ingredients.
Last year, they experimented successfully with a peanut butter Hefeweizen and a coffee-cardamom ale, and already are pondering new collaborations with next-door-neighbor, Merchant Coffee Co.
